Eleven+ welcomes Carolyn Parelli as its Program Manager

Eleven+ is pleased to announce it has hired Carolyn Parelli to lead its internship programming. Carolyn brings a wealth of experience and insight to the role, having worked at the intersection of internships and community outreach for years. Bringing her on board is an important milestone for Eleven+ as it scales its support for underserved students.

With a passion for social responsibility, Carolyn's career in Higher Education began in the Center for Civic Engagement at Drew University. Carolyn spent the last 5+ years providing career counseling and guidance in the Center for Internships and Career Development. As the Associate Director, Career Education and Engagement, Carolyn's unwavering commitment to student success was evident to all. In 2019 Carolyn received the President's Award for Distinguished Staff Service for tirelessly working on behalf of others.

As Assistant Director, Student Employment, Carolyn recognized that students often faced many obstacles in finding and in participating in internships. Driven with a personal mission to ensure students working on campus could gain applicable skills, valuable experience, and a network of mentors and peers, Carolyn initiated and launched professional development programming for 500+students who were employed in various roles and offices on campus.

Andrew Walker, Eleven+ Founder and President, said “Eleven+ emphasizes to our interns the importance of establishing and growing networks. Finding Carolyn, who is supremely qualified for the role, is a testament to how powerful networks can be. Thanks to a shared connection, we were put in touch with each other, and it was a perfect fit.” He added, “Carolyn is already making a big impact on our program design to increase the value Eleven+ creates for its stakeholders. I’m so excited about how far we can go with her onboard.”

Carolyn's passion for building relationships and improving access to meaningful internships is fostered by her personal experience. Carolyn's access to an opportunity-creating paid internship led to early careers at IBM and Nike. The benefits gained from her internship and the mentorship received provided a solid foundation for career success.

She hopes to continue to break down barriers, improve access to opportunities, and connect underserved students with transformative, paid internship experiences that get them to even and beyond.

Carolyn is a graduate of Muhlenberg College and received an MBA from the Stillman School of Business, Seton Hall. She can be reached from February 7th on at Carolyn.Parelli@eleven-plus.org.
